MESSAGES FROM MARILYN

Message from Sr. Marilyn, June 2009

Dear Friends,

As either graduates, instructors, or friends of the PTS  your knowledge of the program in an invaluable resource for future church ministers.

At a meeting this week in Lansing I was asked to  send up-coming information on courses, PTS “doings” and general activities to you in the hopes of promoting the program. Each of you knows that by our baptismal calling we are to further the kingdom here in earth in our own little space.    As educated  leaders in the Church you are constantly aware of the need for potential parish leadership  to develop an informed and active understanding of the  faith.

With that in mind I am presenting the list of fall, 2009 courses and ask you to encourage someone whom you feel would benefit from registering in PTS to consider signing up for a real adventure with God.

“The future depends on what we do in the present.”

SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Dear Friends,

For 13 years Siena Heights University has been offering theology courses in collaboration with the Diocese of Lansing at many different sites.   Over 150 students have earned a certificate in Theological Studies.

Many students have asked that enrichment courses of one or two credits be offered from time to time so that they could continue their education in life long learning.

In the winter of 2007 we offered a 1 credit course in Spiritual Theology taught by Fr. Karl Pung.

In the fall of 2007 we offered a 2 credit course in Canon Law taught by Eileen Jaramillo.

In summer we plan to offer a 2 credit course in the RCIA.   You do not have to be a graduate of the program to avail yourself of this opportunity.   In fact, if you or someone in your parish have responsibilities in the RCIA taking this 4 Thursdays course would be helpful in increasing your understanding and knowledge of the process.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Blessings,

 Sister Marilyn
